Environment Matters in association with Green ThinkerZ proudly presents “Green Diwali Initiative Awards-2015”. Applications are invited from Schools and Colleges to celebrate this festival of lights by spreading happiness, not ‪pollution.

TIE-UP AND PARTICIPATION IN ACSECT-2016, BANGKOK, THAILAND

Environment Matters is sponsoring International Conference, ACSECT-2016 to be held at Bangkok, Thailand organized by Cosmic Group of Journals. Apart from sponsorship, Members of Environment Matters will present their research work in front of researchers/academicians coming from different countries.

WILDLIFE WEEK CELEBRATION

Environment Matters participated in Wildlife Week Celebration organized by Department of Forest and Wildlife, Chandigarh Administration on 2nd October 2015 from Nepli Forest to Kansal Forest.

Workshop on, “Building knowledge for adaptation to climate change- exploring policy options for urban planning in response to climate change”

Workshop on, “Building knowledge for adaptation to climate change- exploring policy options for urban planning in response to climate change”, was organized by Environment Matters, a NGO working on capacity building on contemporary environmental issues and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research Sector-26, Chandigarh on 7 Dec 2013. The workshop was supported by Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) Government of India and Environment Department, Chandigarh Administration. The main aim of the workshop was to initiate action at local level on climate change adaptation by involving municipal authorities and teachers. There were total 60 participants and two panel discussions. The first revolved around- Need to amend Municipal Byelaws/Standards to take into account ‘what if’ scenarios of climate change considering calamities as earthquakes, floods etc. The second panel discussion looked into- Issues in effective implementation of environmental regulations including for construction and township projects.
